111/FFF

Performance and film

A non-capitalist film and performance about freedom, isolation and human intrusion. Nothing is sold. Everything is given. Enter the silence. Slow down. Stop time. Be free for a while.

The “story”

The story of this movie and the ensuing dramatic performance centers on the individual, George, a private cab driver who feels at ease when he is alone on this planet, surrounded only by nature. But the moment people - whom he calls flies - enter his space, his peace of mind evaporates.

His natural existence and identity are attacked, as if a forest fire were melting him down. As a product of a generally accepted system, he is trapped in an unnatural existence and is therefore anything but free.

The flies are everywhere, and they will only be gone when George is gone.

The non-capitalist project

111/FFF started as a non-capitalist film project, a protest against the current film industry. All participants featured in this movie contribute their talent for free, as do all the animals, the sky, the trees, and the natural and unnatural phenomena. The music of Frisian composer and poet Jan Kleefstra, ambient sounds, and the sounds of natural and unnatural phenomena are also used freely for this project.

The end product is a mixture of energies from both living organisms and objects. Dark and light, beauty and ugliness, silence and sound are re-mixed into a tapestry of “being”, stripped of positive and negative.

The performance and the film are symbiotic acts of creativity, shown one after the other. For free, for you. Through your gaze and energy, new images take shape to carry forward.

The location of silence

111/FFF creates stillness, a resonating energy that emerges from close observation and attention to detail, visible only when slowing down. BlinkOut in Ghent is exactly that space, a place where this is embraced.

Join us in this moment. Stop time and be free for a while.
